Goalie Jim Stewart plays his first game for the Boston Bruins.

The Bruins lose to the St. Louis Blues 7-4 at Boston Garden. Stewart gives up three goals in the first four minutes of the game and five in the first period of his first game in the National Hockey League. He is subsequently sent back to the minors and never plays another NHL game.
